Bahrain 2005: Kingdom of Bahrain
The small country Bahrain in the Persian Gulf just off the Eastern coast of Saudi-Arabia consists of 36 islands. The capital Manama is a fast-growing city with a lively political, economic and cultural scene. Socially and politically more liberal than its neighbors, it boasts of public life and a vibrant entertainment sector. Since Bahrain's oil reserves are almost spent, the country is striving to diversify its economy.
